About Me

Hi I'm Tally and welcome to my site!

You may know me as a Personal Trainer, Intuitive Movement Coach, Author, Podcast host and Content creator.

However, I wanted to use this as an opportunity to share some of my story and how that has led me to my work today. So where did this all begin?

Well, this chapter of my life started in my early 20s as a drama school student studying Musical Theatre. I wanted to be an Actress on the West End and so I felt I had to become the fittest and healthiest version of me to achieve that. This is where I discovered the gym, and really looked at my diet for the first time. This all started very innocently, but soon enough I had fallen down the slippery slope into obsession and food, fitness and my body became my world.

It was at this time my Instagram page was created, and I began to share my food and fitness journey online.

I didn't realise at the time, but looking back, I had a very disordered relationship with food, exercise and my body. Things got a bit better for me, and it was at this time I decided to turn my 'passion' aka obsession, into a career. I had been on my own weight loss journey and so in 2014, I became a Personal Trainer. I felt that since I had done it, I could help others achieve a fitter lifestyle too!

I was also sharing recipes and workouts online and in turn building a community on Instagram.

But over time, I became disillusioned with the fitness space. I felt immense pressure as a Personal Trainer with an online platform to look a certain way. Despite multiple dieting attempts, I felt I couldn't get my body to look like everyone else's. And in fact, I was slowly gaining back the weight I had lost.

In 2018 I was introduced to the framework of Intuitive Eating, gained an understanding of what Diet Culture was and suddenly a lot of the pieces of my own puzzle came together. As I went on my own journey of healing my relationship with food, movement and body image, I also began to make big shifts in my approach professionally.

This culminated in releasing my book Train Happy in 2020. I consider this to be my manifesto of how I approach fitness, food and body image. When writing the book, I specifically wanted to explore the concept of Intuitive Movement in more depth. Here I wanted to reflect on why so many of us have a strained relationship with exercise. And using inspiration from the framework of Intuitive Eating, to work on reframing and rebuilding that relationship with movement so it's no longer a chore or punishment, but an important form of self care.

Since releasing Train Happy, the concept of Intuitive Movement has resonated hugely with my community. And so the biggest request has been for more practical and helpful ways to ditch diet culture and become an Intuitive Mover for good. In 2020, I began hosting The Train Happy Podcast. And in late 2021, The Train Happy Journal arrived. This is a practical workbook of journalling prompts and tasks to help you re-evaluate and reframe your relationship with movement.

At the start of 2022, I decided to work 1-1 with clients to Coach and Mentor them specifically in Intuitive Movement. This has been some of my most fulfilling work to date, as we use the framework of Intuitive Movement, to help them rediscover and rebuild movement back in their lives for the long term.

All the while I have been fortunate enough that my community online has grown and evolved with me. We are pushing back against diet culture, body standards and pressures together. We are celebrating feeling more comfortable and confident in our skin together. And finding the movement that makes us feel good along the way!

And as for the next chapter of my life? In the summer of 2024 I am getting married! And through this journey I am learning about the extra pressure placed on couples. And so I have created Anti Diet Bride - a page, community and podcast that helps couples to feel comfortable and confident just as they are in the lead up to the big day.
